A Material that Lasts

Your Brick. Your Mark.
Your Story in the Museum.

A genuine Bockhorn brick from the traditional Uhlhorn Works — still semi-fresh and workable with craft tools. You scratch or carve your motif, name, a date or a personal symbol into the blank. No two bricks are alike.

After firing in the museum's own kiln, your brick is permanently laid in the museum pavement. With a personal location map you can find it at any time — and so can your children, grandchildren and all the generations that follow.

All proceeds flow directly into the care and preservation of the listed townhouse of 1773. With your brick you help to keep this special piece of cultural heritage alive.

In Four Simple Steps

Your Path to
Your Own Brick.

From ordering to your permanently laid brick — simple, personal and made to last for ever.

1
Order

Download the order form, fill in your details and sketch your desired motif directly in the designated field — no artistic talent required.

2
Design

Our volunteer craftspeople transfer your motif with skill onto the fresh brick blank and shape it to your wishes.

3
Fire

Fired in the museum's own kiln — sustainably, once a full batch has been collected. The fire gives the brick its characteristic colour and its centuries-long durability.

4
Lay

We lay your brick permanently in the museum pavement. You receive a personal location map — so that you and everyone after you can find it at any time.

Three Good Reasons

Why Your Brick
is More than a Brick.

The Museum Stone is not a souvenir — it is a permanent statement. For you, for your family, for the whole region.

You Preserve the Museum

Every brick contributes directly to the preservation of the listed townhouse from 1773. Your €15 becomes tools, restoration work and operations — visible, effective and for everyone.

You Leave a Mark

Your name, your date, your motif — fired into brick, laid in the pavement of a 250-year-old house. What could be more lasting? Every person who enters the museum walks past you.

You Become Part of History

Beside you stand families, school classes, clubs and businesses from across the Wesermarsch region. Every brick tells a story — and together they tell the story of our community.

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have
questions?

Here you will find answers to the most common questions about the Museum Stone. For anything else, just write to us!

This depends on when our kiln is fully loaded — we fire sustainably and wait until a complete batch has been gathered. This typically takes a few weeks to a few months. We will let you know as soon as your brick is ready and has been laid.
Anything that fits on the surface of a brick: your name, a date, initials, a family crest, a craft symbol, a short phrase or a company mark. Our craftspeople are happy to advise you on what is technically possible and looks good — submit your idea and we will get back to you.
Absolutely! Company logos, club emblems or a whole group of bricks for the team — this is very much possible and already enjoyed by many. For larger orders please contact us directly so we can find the best solution together.
Yes, absolutely! You will receive a detailed location map showing exactly where your brick lies in the museum pavement. Many families come specifically for a "brick visit" — a lovely reason to return to the museum again and again.
Your brick remains a permanent part of the museum grounds. In the event of necessary building works, all bricks are carefully lifted and re-laid afterwards. The pavement and the site are designed to preserve the bricks across generations.
A Museum Stone makes a unique, personal gift — for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings or Christmas. Simply enter the recipient's name on the form and add a brief note. We are delighted by every story behind it.
