The Crafts Museum Ovelgönne is a listed cultural monument – and at the same time an officially recognised civil wedding venue. Getting married here means no waiting room, no numbered ticket. Instead, a place with soul, history and a garden that invites you to linger.
Two very different rooms appeal to different personalities – from romantically Biedermeier to raw and craft-like. Both are real.
Venue 01
On the first floor of the historic main house sits the "Singer's Room" – named after the choral societies that once rehearsed here. Historic floorboards, exposed timber framing and the warm light of old windows create an atmosphere you simply cannot buy.
Venue 02
"Forge your happiness" – for those who take this more than literally, this is the perfect ceremony space. Exposed beams, the historic forge hearth, heavy tools and the weight of generations of craft work make this one of the most unusual wedding venues in Lower Saxony.
Not an off-the-shelf registry room – but a listed heritage building from 1773, full of history and character.

We are not a mass operation. Just one couple per date. We take our time and shape the setting to your wishes.

In summer, the garden can also serve as a venue for short outdoor ceremonies – please do ask us about this.

Agree on your preferred date and block it in. We check availability and hold the day free – exclusively for you and your guests.
The official marriage registration takes place via the Ovelgönne registry office. Please arrange an appointment there in parallel.
On the big day we take care of the setting – you focus on each other, your love and the people around you.
We didn't want a run-of-the-mill registry ceremony. The Singer's Room was exactly what we had been looking for – warm, genuine and with an atmosphere you simply cannot buy.
The forge was a real surprise for our guests. "You got married in a forge?!" – Yes. And it was the best choice we could have made.
The garden afterwards, the champagne reception between old trees, the photos in front of the historic façade – it felt like a film. We are so glad we found this place.
